Nat West Challenge

 
 
 
Teams of students are challenged to set an event management company who are making a bid to organise and run the school’s prom.

 

 
 
 

Teams are presented with a range of unique scenarios and objectives designed to give each a different challenge to over come in delivering the best event to budget. Each team nominates members for different tasks within the company such as manager, accounts, marketing etcetera, each with its own function and responsibilities. The teams are judged by a panel of representatives from local business.

 

Aims of Project:

 

  • Understand the relationship between costs, prices and profits, and be able to calculate each in a particular situation
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data to help them solve a ‘real-life’ problem
  • Plan out and calculate a budget
  • Take part in role-play situations that develop communication skills and self confidence
  • Work in team, taking on responsibility for a specific role

This enterprise activity is organised by Nat West and can be supported further by other local business representatives who bring real world experience to the task at hand.

 

Duration:

 

This event is designed for up to 250 students and lasts for one school day.
